What
I see in North Philadelphia is abandon homes and crime scenes. This is what
North Philadelphia is mostly known for. The crime rates are high and the
poverty here is very poor. I feel as though because the city does not cause for
the way our neighborhood looks like, people tend to act up upon their
surroundings. We should not have to live in areas like this, even if we cannot
afford to live in nicer areas. The city should make it nice enough to live in.
What I don’t see is the government working on rebuilding
these house for people to live in. There are a lot of houses like this and it
makes our neighborhood look very disturbing. There aren’t windows in some
houses, which make some people live in cold houses or homeless people easy
access to live in these homes. The city is just showing us people that they
don’t care for the homes we live.
This here is the
Rocky statue in front of the Philadelphia museum of art. This statue was used
for the movies “Rocky 3”. This statue represented his stage in his career. As In Jimmy's words, "The statue
signifies that anything is possible, so long as you keep persevering. It
signifies personal victory, that's what it stands up for...personal
victory." Philadelphia can relate to this because we all believe as long
as we work hard, we can achieve anything. Growing up in the neighborhoods we
live in, this motivates us to do better. If Rocky could do it, we can also.
Many people today try to challenge themselves to run up the steps of the
Philadelphia museum of art to challenge their selves.
